I was under the impression that the Lumagen is very neutral and that the test patterns I them are reference as well. My concern is that the Lumagen is altering the greyscale even when it is not adjusted. I am aware I can calibrate that out, that’s not my concern. I get the same results if I run the Oppo thru the Lumagen with no adjustments on the Lumagen and checking with the AVS HD709 disc, there is a +green greyscale.Ĥ. Is this normal? I made sure that all three components were outputting YCbCr 4:2:2. It is +green on the greyscale but similar in terms of gamma and gamut. This indicates that the output sent out by the Lumagen are not the same as the VideoForge/Oppo. As the results show, the greyscale is off compared to what the VideoForge/Oppo was showing. Next, I put the Lumagen directly to the display, without the Oppo in the chain, pulled out the reference test patterns on the Lumagen and checked the greyscale, gamma. I checked with the AVS HD709 test disc that confirmed that the greyscale and gamma was accurateģ. I then hooked up the Oppo BDP-93 directly to the display. I did not correct gamut as the Kuro does not have a 6 axis CMS and I started with a wide gamut so I can pull it in with the LumagenĢ. VideoForge directly to display – calibrate greyscale, gamma with controls in display. I ran into a problem 2 weeks ago while attempting to set up/test the Lumagen in my own setup before setting up for a client.
